Rental Terms

Renter: The person making the reservation
1.1
Check-in is possible from 4:00 PM, and check-out must occur before 11:00 AM.
1.2
The maximum number of people allowed in the chalet is 10, including 8 adults, and this limit must not be exceeded under any circumstances. It is forbidden to have visitors at the chalet at any time of the day.
1.3
Party gatherings are strictly prohibited.
1.4
Pets are not allowed, either inside or outside the chalet.
1.5
Tents, trailer tents, RVs, snowmobiles, and ATVs are not allowed.
1.6
Vehicles must not exceed a maximum speed of 30 km/h within the property.
1.7
The maximum number of vehicles allowed on the chalet property is 4. It is forbidden to park anywhere other than in the designated parking area. Parking on the street is also prohibited.
1.8
It is forbidden to store bicycles, skis, snowboards, paddleboards, kayaks, or canoes inside the chalet. These items must be stored outside.
1.9
All doors must be locked, and all windows completely closed when the renter and their guests are not at the chalet, including upon departure.
1.10
In the case of an unlocked door leading to theft, fire, or vandalism, the renter will be charged a penalty of $2500 or any amount not covered by insurance.
1.11
The check-out time must be strictly adhered to in order to allow the cleaning team to begin their tasks on time.
1.12
Subletting, transferring, or lending the chalet is prohibited.
1.13
Access to the Vertendre facilities (lake, trails, etc.) may be restricted and is not guaranteed for reasons beyond the owner's control. No compensation will be provided in case these facilities are unavailable.
1.14
The owner and the property owners cannot be held responsible for injuries, illnesses, or deaths of the renter or their guests, nor for the loss or damage of personal belongings. By making the booking, the renter and their guests accept the risks associated with their stay and cannot take legal action against the owner or the property owners for any reason.
1.15
The owner will not issue any refunds for unforeseen situations such as power outages, severe weather conditions, internet service interruptions, water issues, or septic system failures during the stay.
1.16
The owner reserves the right to cancel a reservation at any time and refund the renter, for any reason. However, no refund will be given in the case of a breach of the rental terms.
1.17
The owner can cancel the contract without notice if the renter or their guests breach one or more rules.
1.18
Any violation of rules 1.2 and 1.3 will result in immediate eviction without refund.
1.19
In case of a breach of rules 1.4 to 1.11, deductions will be made from the security deposit:
• $500 for breaching rule 1.4.
• $150 for each rule violated among rules 1.5 to 1.11 (up to the total amount of the security deposit).
2.1
The renter agrees to return the chalet in the same condition as upon arrival. An additional charge may be required for cleaning fees if the spaces used are not in the same condition as at the start of the stay.
2.2
The renter is responsible for any material damage occurring during the rental period, including damage to the building or breakage of items inside, even if they were not used. The renter is liable for the actions of any other person on the premises and has ensured that they read the rules.
2.3
The renter is responsible for inventorying the items, identifying and reporting any breakage or damage to the property or building noticed upon arrival, and informing the owner immediately.
2.4
The chalet is non-smoking.
2.5
A cutting board must be used on the counters for cutting food, and no knife may be used directly on the counters.
2.6
Dishes must be carefully washed. It is acceptable to run the dishwasher just before the renter departs.
2.7
Waste, recyclables, and compost must be placed in the appropriate outdoor bins (blue for recycling, brown for compost, black for trash) and placed at the roadside the evening before collection, according to the collection schedule posted in the chalet.
2.8
In case of damage or breakage to property or the building, theft, or misuse of indoor or outdoor equipment, whether intentional or accidental, costs will be deducted from the security deposit. If the amount of damage is equal to or less than the security deposit, it will be deducted. If the amount exceeds the security deposit, the renter will be required to pay the difference, and an invoice will be sent.
2.9
In case of non-compliance with rules 2.4 to 2.7, deductions will be made from the security deposit:
• $500 for non-compliance with rule 2.4.
• $150 for each rule violated among rules 2.5 to 2.7 (up to the total amount of the security deposit).
3.1
It is strictly prohibited to set off fireworks or use firecrackers.
3.2
Excessive noise is prohibited at all times.
3.3
The renter and their guests must respect the property and the neighborhood.
3.4
The use of outdoor speakers is prohibited.
3.5
A curfew is in place from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM.
3.6
The renter and their guests must never leave a fire burning overnight or when they leave the chalet. Outdoor fires must only be lit in the designated fire pit and at a moderate intensity. No open fires are allowed. Ashes, embers, and other residues must stay in the fire pit, and fires must be completely extinguished before leaving the chalet.
3.7
Never leave children unattended on the terrace or near the fire.
3.8
It is prohibited to cut branches or fell trees and bushes, whether on the property or on neighboring properties.
3.9
Always clean the outdoor BBQ and turn off the gas bottle valve after each use (available only in summer).
3.10
In case of non-compliance with rules 3.1 to 3.9, deductions will be made from the security deposit:
• $500 for non-compliance with any of the rules 3.1 to 3.5.
• $150 for each rule violated among rules 3.6 to 3.9 (up to the total amount of the security deposit).
4.1
Never leave children unattended in the spa.
4.2
Never allow children to open the spa cover or handle the maintenance products.
4.3
Always take a shower before using the spa and tie long hair.
4.4
Unclip the 4 clips before opening the cover.
4.5
At least two people must be present to open and close the cover.
4.6
Never bring food or drink into the spa.
4.7
Always close the cover after each use and reattach the clips.
4.8
Use only the products listed in the email sent prior to arrival.
4.9
Add water if the level falls below the jets.
4.10
Always turn off the water jets before closing the cover.
4.11
Gray shower towels should not be used in the spa.
4.12
In case of non-compliance with rules 4.1 to 4.11, deductions will be made from the security deposit:
• $150 for each rule violated among rules 4.1 to 4.11 (up to the total amount of the security deposit).
Note
Outdoor cameras monitor the property to ensure security and compliance with the rules (number of people present, curfew hours, departure times, use of fire, etc.). No private space, whether indoors or outdoors, is filmed, out of respect for the privacy of the occupants.
